Creative Process

Task: Develop an event. Make a magazine spread and social media post to coincide.

Campaign: Created a magazine spread and social media post for a Hurricane Harvey benefit concert called Hope for Houston. I chose singers from the Houston area that would be willing to perform for the relief fund. I made a hashtag to grow more awareness about the event and the hurricane. Researched realistic sponsors and calculated about how much I expected the event to bring in.

Creation: InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop were all key components in the creation of these advertisements. I picked red, black, and white because they are bold and suggest urgency and importance. The symbol for Hope for Houston was the state with a heart where Houston is. The sections of the magazine are broken up with bold lines. There is an emphasis on the Hope for Houston logo and typography with a reverse shadow effect to make it look 3-D. I traced the skyline of Houston on illustrator and added the headliners names. I also photoshopped the main headliner, Beyonce, in hopes to catch attention. The social media post is simple and easy to understand. The social media post would be reposted by all of the headliners and sponsors. The social media post would not only inform about the conert, but also raise awareness for Hurricane Harvey.
